No. A railgear inspection concerns the vehicle’s railway equipment. A railway operating licence applies to the railway operation, while Canadian Rail Operating Rules (CROR) training concerns personnel qualifications. Equipment inspection alone does not authorise a person or vehicle to enter railway track.
Confirm the interval and required documentation with the railgear manufacturer, the railway you work for and the inspection provider. Requirements depend on the equipment and operating rules; a road vehicle safety inspection does not replace a railgear inspection.
