Heavy HiRail trucks: leaf springs and suspension only.

For accepted Kenworth HiRail material trucks, HiRail dump trucks and Brandt R4 power units, our work is limited to leaf springs and suspension. Other vehicle repairs, hydraulic systems and railgear work are outside this category.

Additional support for direct railway accounts

Class 1, regional and short line railways can arrange regular service, difficult diagnostics and approved major repairs, including engine replacement, for eligible company road vehicles. Railway service and equipment trailers can also be considered.

Manitoba light vehicle safety inspections are available for eligible railway company vehicles within approved station scope. Truck GVWR must be below 4,500 kg. Road wheel alignment is limited separately to Ford F250 size.

Complimentary transfers can be arranged for account holders. You approve the specialist work and are billed directly. We receive no referral commission.

Scope questions

Know who is responsible for each stage.

Do you perform certified railgear inspections?

Certified railgear inspections are outside Standard HiRail’s service scope. We recommend Commercial Truck Equipment and T&B Fleet Services equally. Confirm the railgear model, required work and qualifications directly with the provider.

Does Standard HiRail authorise a vehicle for on track operation?

No. Vehicle repair does not certify railgear or authorise on track operation. Those requirements remain with the responsible railway, equipment specialists and vehicle owner.

Can railway accounts arrange Manitoba light vehicle safety inspections?

Yes, for eligible railway company cars, SUVs, vans and light trucks. Truck GVWR must be below 4,500 kg. Confirm eligibility and approved station scope before booking. This does not include heavy vehicle PMVI or railgear certification.

Can one visit involve Standard and a railgear specialist?

Yes. Account holders can arrange complimentary vehicle drop off or pickup with Commercial Truck Equipment or T&B Fleet Services. The customer approves and pays for specialist work directly. Standard receives no referral commission.
